Broken Vessels

Moonset

Some of us may feel a sense of “reasonable” despair when considering the chaos of our upside-down world.    However, our discouragement likely pales in comparison with the overwhelming pain and hopelessness that so many feel within their hearts, minds, and spirits.  Here is a testimonial encouragement toward trusting Jesus as our Healer and our Hope in the midst of darkness:

I have been unfortunate to witness intense human suffering over the past thirty years.  Sustaining grace to serve in this difficult ministry, for this long, is not easy for me to understand—much less to explain.  There hasn’t been anything easy about it.    It has often been a painful journey of failing, learning, and serving.  It has required the gift of faith to remain more impressed with God’s healing, than with human suffering—including my own.  Somehow God has managed to convince me of the sure hope that His healing will ultimately conquer all of our hurts.  Though we rejoice that some people report having experienced dramatic miracles of healing on earth, for most of us, healing is a much slower and more painful process.  I believe that many profound hurts will be cured by Heaven alone.  This leaves us with a great deal of grief, pain, and discouragement to manage on this side of Perfection.  By faith, you may choose to trust God’s good heart, even when you cannot trace His hand in the midst of your circumstances.  I do believe that His every intention for your life is lovingly perfect.  He will certainly never leave you alone through this challenging journey of ups and downs.

Some hurts live deeper within us than we are able to understand; they often transcend our ability to share them through mere words.  Thank God that He reaches the depths of who we are and fully understands every “language” of our complex hurts.  He is Comforter, Counselor, and Healer.  Be strengthened and encouraged in Him today.  Our Heavenly Father has wonderfully and uniquely created you from perfect love.  He ministers to your spirit, only and always, with caring tenderness.  May God’s love flow freely and ever-increasingly through the broken vessels of you and me.  Hope within us is Hope for the world.
